TruBlue Expands into Central Ohio to Provide Home and Property Maintenance with Just One Phone Call
Paramedic-firefighter Don Zabarsky is expanding his expertise in safety and security with the launch of his new TruBlue House Care franchise for clients in and around Dublin, Ohio.
Dublin, OH (PRWEB) February 28, 2013 - With TruBlue, property owners who lack the time, strength or ability to do certain household chores can get all the help they need with just one phone call.
As a paramedic and firefighter, Don Zabarsky knows the importance of home safety and community service. With the launch of his new TruBlue House Care franchise, he’ll use that knowledge to help homeowners in communities north of Columbus, Ohio, preserve and protect their homes without the hassle of doing it all themselves.
With TruBlue, clients can make one phone call to get year-round, total house care – including yard work, routine and emergency repairs, holiday decorating, gutter cleaning, maid services, and whatever else they need. “As a paramedic, I see people who need help with certain conditions in their homes, see things that are neglected,” Zabarsky said.
“Sometimes people are just busy and don’t have the time to do the job. Others don’t have the skills and don’t know who they can trust to hire for the job. And, for many older people, it’s better that they let someone else do the work just because of the physical risks. TruBlue fits into all their lifestyles,” Larsen Sharp, vice president of operations for TruBlue, echoed those sentiments. “Don’s observations mirror our own,” Sharp said.
“We have found that while lots of businesses cater to homeowners and property managers, it’s often a challenge to find the right people for each aspect of routine maintenance. With TruBlue, the client calls one number rather than having to check out three plumbers or three electricians or three landscapers. Whatever work that needs to be done, TruBlue takes the lead and gets it done.” Zabarsky knows the scenario well because of his work with area banks. “I started a side business a few years ago taking care of the maintenance of foreclosed homes for banks,” he said. “If a Realtor is trying to sell the property, it has to be made ready. Generally I’d make sure it was cleaned out, locks were changed, grass was cut, roof was fixed, whatever needed done was done by qualified people.”
Because of the need he saw in the community, Zabarsky had been thinking about expanding his business for some time when he accidently found TruBlue. “I wasn’t looking to buy a franchise when I came across it on the internet,” he said. “But it seemed like the ideal fit for my skills and my interests. I’m trained as an electrical engineer and had worked for a manufacturing plant where my focus was on safety and emergency response. While there, I volunteered as a firefighter and earned an EMT (emergency medical technician) certification. Eight years ago, I started working full-time as a firefighter and paramedic. Then I added my side business. I guess my focus always has been on safety and service.”
What Zabarsky didn’t understand was how to expand his business and continue to spend time with his wife and two children. “The more I learned about TruBlue the more confident I became that its business model would work for me,” he said. “What worried me the most was marketing, and TruBlue showed me the ways they would help. I wasn’t going to have to learn by trial and error. And I wasn’t going to be out here all alone.” Zabarsky said his wife, Theresa, was skeptical of his plans until she visited the corporate offices in Cincinnati and learned more about the company structure. “Now she’s sold, too, especially when she saw the types of support available to us.”
Sharp said TruBlue owners do appreciate the values and principles of the company. “Other people may do lawns or maid services or handyman work, but TruBlue is something different because of our level of professionalism,” he said. “Our House Care Managers ensure that work both inside and outside the house is done correctly by the right person at the right time. And all TruBlue employees are bonded and insured. That adds peace of mind not just for clients, but also their families and friends. One call really does get the job done, and that’s appreciated by single-family homeowners, real estate agents, property managers, bank officials, and other types of property owners.”
