September 20, 2013 // Franchising.com // CHICAGO - Potbelly Sandwich Shop opened its doors at 15641 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, Tuesday, Sept. 17. This will give more area residents the chance to experience the lively, neighborhood hangout that makes Potbelly Sandwich Shop “The Best Place for Lunch.”
Kyle Jones is the general manager and has been with Potbelly for more than seven years. This is the second Potbelly in the Scottsdale area Jones will open, having worked in several Dallas-Fort Worth shops before relocating to work in Phoenix shops a year ago. “I am thrilled to be opening a second Scottsdale Potbelly location,” Jones said. “My wife, Kelly, and I are proud to call Phoenix and the Valley our home and Scottsdale is an important, thriving part of the Valley. We love the area, and I am excited for the opportunity to meet more of our neighbors in Scottsdale when this new shop is open. The shop’s entire team is anxiously waiting to welcome new friends and Potbelly fans.”
The new shop will partner with Impact Church during its pre-opening event, the Oven Warming Party, to raise funds for the group. “We chose to partner with Impact Church to help fund the mission trip, ‘Impacting Nicaragua,’ happening in November,” Jones said. “A group from the church is traveling to Tipi-tapa, Nicaragua, to build homes, feed the hungry and love the people there. All donations from the Oven Warming will be used to fund the mission trip.”
Known for its good vibes in addition to great sandwiches, live music has been a part of the Potbelly experience since the first shop opened in 1977. Neighborhood musicians put a little rhythm into lunch by performing live at Potbelly Sandwich Shops around the country. Musicians interested in performing at the new Scottsdale Potbelly should contact the shop manager.
Potbelly has built a passionate, loyal following of fans who spread the word about the fun, energetic atmosphere and great food. The unique Potbelly experience is defined by its combination of toasty warm sandwiches, hand-dipped shakes, tasty made-to-order salads, as well as friendly and lively people. “The neighborhood feel is unique to Potbelly,” Jones said. “We do our best to remember faces and names, and we love it when we have return guests. We strive to make every visit special for our guests—we want them to feel at home.”
This is the newest Potbelly Sandwich Shop to open in Scottsdale and the shop will staff approximately 20 employees and managers. The location is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
